A retreat in Turkey guides visitors in sema, the Sufi spiritual practice of whirling

There is something beautifully fitting about a Sufi whirling retreat capturing attention in Turkey right now. Turkey's national chart carries a Scorpio Sun. This placement attunes deeply to mystical depth, transformation, and the hidden rivers of the soul. Sema, the sacred whirling practice of the Mevlevi Order rooted in the Anatolian city of Konya, is not mere performance—it is a spiritual technology for ego dissolution and union with the divine, which resonates profoundly with Scorpio's hunger to penetrate beyond the surface of ordinary existence. That this ancient practice is drawing curious visitors seeking transcendence feels very much like Turkey expressing one of its most authentic spiritual gifts to the wider world.

On the transit front, Neptune moving through Pisces has been casting a long, shimmering spell over collective consciousness, softening boundaries and stirring a global thirst for spiritual meaning that goes beyond organized religion. Powerful. When Neptune's dreamy, dissolving energy harmonizes with Turkey's Scorpio Sun, it tends to bring the country's mystical heritage into clearer public view, almost like a lantern being lifted in a dark room. The whirling dervish becomes a living symbol. Arms outstretched, one hand reaching to heaven and one toward earth, it embodies what this transit asks of all of us—to be a vessel between worlds rather than a fortress of the ego.
