Rudraksha beads are the seeds of the Elaeocarpus ganitrus tree, sacred in Hindu, Buddhist, and Shaiva traditions. The name comes from "Rudra" (a name of Shiva) and "Aksha" (eye or tear). Each bead has natural facets called "Mukhis" (faces), ranging from 1 to 21, and each Mukhi is associated with a specific deity, planet, and set of benefits. Rudraksha malas (108 beads) are used for meditation and mantra practice.
