December Birthstone: Turquoise, Tanzanite & Zircon

December has three birthstones: Turquoise (an opaque blue-green copper mineral sacred to many indigenous cultures), Tanzanite (a blue-violet zoisite found only near Mount Kilimanjaro), and Zircon (not to be confused with cubic zirconia — natural zircon has exceptional brilliance). Associated with Sagittarius and Capricorn, all three carry protective and transformative energies.
