Brew Your Coffee — Turkish Method

Use 1 heaped teaspoon of extra-fine ground coffee per cup

Add cold water to your cezve (do NOT boil water first)

Add sugar now if desired — never stir after brewing begins

Heat on LOW — patience is everything

When foam rises, remove from heat. Let it settle. Repeat 2-3 times

The most ancient and revered form. Turkish coffee is brewed in a cezve (ibrik), served unfiltered, and the thick grounds create the most detailed patterns. The cup is flipped onto the saucer and left to cool before reading.

Greek+

Brewed in a briki, Greek coffee reading (kafemandeia) follows similar rituals. The reader often begins from the handle, which represents the querent, and reads clockwise for the future.

Arabic+

Arabic qahwa reading emphasises the connection between the reader and the divine. The grounds are often read alongside Quran-inspired symbolism and lunar phases.

Armenian+

Armenian soorj reading has been passed through generations of grandmothers. Special attention is given to symbols near the rim (immediate future) and the very bottom of the cup (deep past/karma).

Tea Leaves+

What kind of coffee do I need?+

Turkish coffee creates the best ground patterns, but any unfiltered coffee works. French press, cowboy coffee, or even the sediment from regular drip coffee can be read. For tea, use loose-leaf tea (not tea bags).

Can I use espresso?+

Espresso machines use fine grounds and high pressure, which typically don't leave enough residue in the cup. If you want to try, use a very fine grind and a small cup. Turkish coffee is strongly recommended for the best results.

Do I need a birth chart for a reading?+
