He was affiliated with the Black Disciples gang of Chicago's South Side and was considered a preeminent figure in the drill genre of hip-hop music—a raw, aggressive style that emerged from the city's most violent neighborhoods and captured the realities of gang life with unflinching authenticity. He died in 2020.
