Year of the Fire Horse
Deluxe Astrology's Chinese zodiac calculator identifies your animal sign, Heavenly Stem element, and Yin/Yang polarity from your birth year, covering the full 60-year Sexagenary Cycle (Jiazi) with compatibility and lucky element analysis.
The Chinese zodiac (Shengxiao) is a 12-year cycle where each year is associated with an animal sign — Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. But the animal alone is half the picture. Each year also carries one of the five elements (Wu Xing): Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water. A Water Tiger (1962, 2022) has a fundamentally different temperament than a Fire Tiger (1926, 1986). The full 60-year cycle — called the Sexagenary Cycle or Jiazi — only repeats once you've gone through all 12 animals combined with all 5 elements.
BaZi (Four Pillars of Destiny) takes this further. It reads the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches of your birth year, month, day, and hour — creating an eight-character blueprint of your life. 2026 is a Bing Wu year: Fire Horse. Fire on fire. A year of speed, visibility, bold moves, and — if your chart already runs hot — potential burnout. People born in Horse years are experiencing their Ben Ming Nian (natal year), a period classical Chinese astrology considers both auspicious and volatile. The old remedy: wear something red close to the body. The real remedy: know your chart.

The Chinese zodiac (Shēngxiào 生肖) is a 12-year cycle where each year is associated with an animal sign: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig. Combined with the Five Elements and Yin-Yang theory, it creates a 60-year cycle used for personality analysis, compatibility, and destiny prediction.
Your Chinese zodiac animal is primarily determined by your birth year. However, the Chinese zodiac year starts at the Lunar New Year (late January or February), not January 1. If you were born in January or early February, you may belong to the previous year's animal. For precise calculation, use the BaZi (Four Pillars) system which accounts for the exact Li Chun date.
The basic Chinese zodiac assigns one animal based on birth year. BaZi (Four Pillars of Destiny) is far more detailed — it assigns a heavenly stem and earthly branch to your year, month, day, AND hour of birth, creating eight characters that map your elemental DNA, personality, relationships, career potential, and life cycles.
2026 is the Year of the Fire Horse (丙午 Bǐng Wǔ), beginning February 17, 2026. The Horse is a Yang Fire animal, and the 2026 heavenly stem Bǐng (丙) adds more Fire energy, creating a double-fire year of intense energy, passion, and transformation.
The most compatible groups are the Three Harmonies triangles: Rat-Dragon-Monkey (Water), Ox-Snake-Rooster (Metal), Tiger-Horse-Dog (Fire), and Rabbit-Goat-Pig (Wood). The Six Harmonies pairs (Rat-Ox, Tiger-Pig, Rabbit-Dog, Dragon-Rooster, Snake-Monkey, Horse-Goat) also share strong bonds.
Every AI interpretation on Deluxe Astrology is neuroscience-enhanced — an industry first. We score reading templates against a brain predictive model trained on 700+ participants, optimizing for four neural networks: self-referential processing (so the reading feels personal), emotional resonance, narrative comprehension, and meaning-making. The result is readings that resonate deeper, not just longer. The planetary calculations use NASA JPL DE431 ephemeris data, and the AI layer makes the same accurate data feel genuinely yours.
