The Drekkana is the third divisional chart (Varga) in the Parashara system, produced by dividing each sign into three equal 10-degree segments. The first decan (0°–10°) maps to the same sign, the second decan (10°–20°) maps to the 5th sign from it, and the third decan (20°–30°) maps to the 9th sign. This chart is primarily used to analyze relationships with siblings, the 3rd house themes of courage, initiative, and short travel, and the dharma/karma axis in a horoscope. A strong 3rd lord in the D3 chart supports sibling bonds and personal initiative; an afflicted one may indicate challenging sibling relationships or difficulty taking independent action.
